Registration for the amateur events during the 2024 Tata Steel Chess Tournament will open Monday 30 October 2023, 10:00 CET. Entries will be processed in order of receipt. You can find more information on the different amateur events on this page. Please note that any information below might be subject to change.

All non-Dutch participants need a FIDE-ID to register.

  • If you do not know yours, you can find it here by entering your name. Dutch participants can also register with their KNSB-ID.
  • If you do not have a FIDE-ID, contact your Chess Federation to apply for it.
  • If you do not have a KNSB-ID either, you may become a rating member (KNSB website) for € 12,50

Please note: You may only enter for one event. The organization can decide otherwise in exceptional cases, or if more space can be made.

When you are delayed send a mail to amateurevents@tatasteelchess.com or you can call +31 (0)251 37 45 41 (reception desk De Moriaan).

The Tata Steel Chess Tournament only allows online payments. After registration you will receive a confirmation e-mail. You will receive the payment link at a later stage in a separate e-mail. Registration becomes definitive after payment. If the registration fee is not paid within the set deadlines, the organization is entitled to cancel the registration.
